Here is the latest on the upcoming Poway USBCHA Trial:

The Dunnigan Hills SDT has been sanctioned for the same weekend in April as the Action K9 Spring Fling SDT. In order to accommodate handlers who wish to run in both events, we are moving the Action K9 trial >up< to the prior weekend.

The Action K9 Spring Fling SDT will be held April 19-21. USBCHA-sanctioned Open and Nursery will run on Friday and Saturday. Pro-Novice and Ranch classes will run two rounds on Sunday.

Entries will open on 20 March, closing date is 08 April. Entry form will be available by tomorrow, 12 March, on the web at http://www.actionk9sports.com.

Do you know the details on the trial coming up in Poway in April 2013, cant find details about it, location times etc.

It’s hot, sweaty work and oh, so worth it. This is the one event I really look forward to every year. I am the primary set out person this year and I am really looking forward to it. It tends to be a little stressful, but the outrun is really narrow and the sheep often have to be ‘held’ in place rather then just setting on the hay.

Impressive, Blair. But then, this isn’t the first time you’ve surprised and impressed me at the same time. Speaking of herding (sorta), my wife used to run obedience runs with her dog(s). Now days she is just a lady that insists on strict sit/wait/release at doors plus other remnants of well-trained dog training. I suspect if there is any herding going on, I am the sheep in this herd of family.
